Wexler's Warts
Standing astride the great divide,
The analyst will see both sides;
One at a time, the cogent abides,
Provoking no thought suicide.
Senseless lambaste, the pol's best friend,
Shouted, pseudo, less than half-truth...
Attack, besmirch, dirt via sleuth,
Tear down...nought standing in the end.
Hired guns...talk shows, spinning galore,
Untruths, skewed facts...poisoned debate,
Diffuse, obscure, lie if caught late
When a story's been spun before.
Virtue, honor, personal pride
Vest in one's design of ideas;
Naked, these sentinels free us
To stem an irrational tide.
