To Life's Litany
Burgeoned broadcast to birds and bees
Of scrumptious, sweet samplings, galore,
Redbud, cherry and dogwood trees
Lure with colors none can ignore.
Sensual sirens' gaudy attire,
Undulant limbs declare desire
To pollinate, repopulate,
Fling down the winds their fervid dust,
Stamens, searching the pistillate,
Blanket the world in Nature's lust.
Stag to doe else sturgeon nee roe,
Nature spawns and she struts her stuff.
Each with an impetus to grow
Her bounty, refilling enough
Food chain cupboards that life's assured,
The fittest's survival secured.
Attraction's eduction in Spring,
Beauty's allure, color's display,
Blossomed perfume...all urge we sing
Litanies to life on the way.
